Popping Up Like Mushrooms.

More and more small businesses are popping up like mushrooms in today's global market and Curaçao is no exception. Several people in Curaçao are venturing into the small business world and I think that it is very logical to have your own small business. 

Here are the reasons why I think having your own business is a great idea:

  1. You can choose your own time when to work.
  2. You are getting satisfaction doing it. (Of course, it's your idea to establish your own business).
  3. No Bossman to BOSS you around.
  4. You get to keep ALL the profits.
Working for a company is no guarantee that you will have a long-term job. The Covid pandemic demonstrated how you can be out of a job in an instant. Wham, NO JOB!! Thus, all the more reason to have your own business. 

Having Your Own Small Business.

Ok, you have complied with all your paperwork and legal aspects for setting up your business and are ready to receive your new customers. Days, weeks, months go by, and not a soul knows that you exist. 
You wonder: "What on earth went wrong?"
Hmmm. Did you do any marketing? Did you advertise? Does anyone know that you have started a business? Probably, one of these questions applies to you. What you need is HELP.

Supporting Business Owners Like Yourself.

Business owners need to support each other, especially when it comes to native business owners.
This does NOT mean that by helping each other you will be charging an exorbitant price for your service.
On the contrary, it means that we can collaborate with each other at a reasonable price for us to survive against the giants.


Here are some practical ways to support your co-small business owner according to an article in Forbes:
  1. Start small when purchasing goods or services. Use the services/goods of co-small business owners before going to big companies.
  2. Collaborate with other local small businesses to help the community and share boot space.
  3. Create community groups on social media and other platforms to share ideas and experiences.
  4. Help each other in referring customers to each other's business.
  5. Offer discounts to local small businesses. 

Conclusion

One way to have a successful business is to collaborate with other small business owners and seek help.
Helping each other can be beneficial for business owners to start small and grow.
